We come from the Italian region of Piemonte, Piedmont (literally ‘at the foot of the mountain’) a region lodged between the Southern Alps and the Po Valley, in the north west of Italy. It is a region steeped in Viticultural history and is the first region whose wines were awarded DOCG recognition. Its wines stand among the world’s finest. Names such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Arneis, Gavi, Moscato are all wines that we came to know and later drunk as we grew up. Our grandfathers and uncles actually produced their own wine, usually made from either Dolcetto or Barbera grapes.
Today the wines from our region tend to be some of the most expensive in Italy and good Barolo, as we all know, adorns the wine lists of the country’s finest restaurants at seriously high prices.
We are very proud of our region’s viticultural heritage and keen to bring some of these great wines to our customers. So together with our dedicated wine suppliers, we have put together a list of some of the finest that Piemonte has to offer plus some other bits from the rest of Italy & beyond that we are particularly fond of.
We have managed to get hold of these exclusive wines at a good price and so we can offer them to you at an exceptional value. The prices you see are for take away, to drink them in add £ 8.95 corkage. Trust us, you won’t find these rare and sought after producers anywhere cheaper in the UK. They make an ideal present to both “wine buffs” and/or those who simply enjoy good wines. Please feel free to ask us if you need any assistance.
